The Directory magazine celebrates it´s 4th birthday
The Directory magazine celebrates it´s 4th birthday this month. Any of you reading this who have started a business knows how challenging it can be, but here in Spain even more so, so just for a moment I will enjoy a pat on the back.
Starting a business in the heart of the recession …
There is so much I can say about the last 4 years but quite simply I had very specific goals when I started The Directory magazine, wanting to make a quality publication that was informative and relative to where we have chosen to live or visit. I wanted businesses of all sizes to be able to advertise and be seen at affordable prices. I wanted to know about my clients and help them grow, which in turns helps my business grow and I wanted to create a living for my daughter and me.
I am quite literally a one woman band, who in the last year has thoroughly enjoyed her days out once a month with Jennie when we have visited villages and towns for the ‘out and about’ section. My mum & dad have helped me enormously looking after my daughter as and when I have needed. They have even come out helping me with the deliveries, on occasions paid for my petrol and bought me breakfast whilst we are out on the rounds … #luckydaughter. I am grateful also to have Rob who helps me deliver the magazines as well, as there are many kilometres driven and stops taken to make sure all the areas receive copies of the magazine and from the moment we get driving there is laughter and banter all the way.
As you would expect with any business there have been some ups and downs and highs and lows, but there has also been lots of fun as well.
